In what way is the artwork part of the PhD?
The PhD is a PhD in Fine Arts with a creative component. This means a 60,000 word Thesis and a standalone art work which is related to the thesis but not examined or described by the thesis. The work Performing Capital, operates within its own context. That context is that everyone is an artist. Everyone that makes things is an artist. If you sell your labour as a commodity, you are an artist by the definition of this work. Artist=proletariat.
Will my work be evaluated or judged within the PhD?
The answer is no. Your work will not be judged in any way. This work is part of the PhD I am doing. But it is a seperate component. It stands alone from the written component. You need not worry about being judged. To participate is to succeed.
